Canadians are heading into Thanksgiving weekend with steeper prices at the store, as multiple outlets report turkey and feast costs are up this year. Shoppers are paying more at checkout, with CityNews Calgary and Global News both noting the growing strain on household budgets.

Parts of the Prairies could see up to 10 cm of snow over the long weekend, making road trips more difficult. The OPP warns Thanksgiving ranks second among long weekends for road fatalities in Ontario. Motorists should plan ahead and adjust their routes before hitting the road.

On a lighter note, fall colours are peaking in Gatineau Park, attracting crowds to the area before the season shifts toward winter.
