Max Verstappen took the Formula 1 sprint race at Marina Bay in Singapore on Saturday after race leader George Russell lost the lead in a crash in wet conditions. Verstappen also took pole for the main grand prix, completing a strong day for the Red Bull driver.
A collision between Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll drew attention during the sprint. After his win, Verstappen told reporters F1 should drop sprint races at circuits like Singapore, where overtaking is nearly impossible. The main race is planned for Sunday.
