Nikita Zadorov of the Boston Bruins was benched for the game against the Kings because of penalty problems. The Bruins had recently had a five-game winning run, and a message from coach Marco Sturm was included in the announcement. Zadorov was in good condition but scrubbed for the game. The team's recent winning streak continued with the decision to sit out Zadorov.
